April 3 in the conference hall of the Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University, the traditional international scientific seminar "Magnitogorsk Materials Week" has already started. Its hold by laboratory "Mechanics of Gradient Nanomaterials. A.P. Zhilyaev" of the Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University. The idea of ​​holding such seminars was proposed by Professor Alexander Zhilyaev in 2018. Since then, scientific seminars have been held twice a year. Over the years, experts from different countries have acted as speakers at the conference, including the USA, Spain, Great Britain, India, Italy, China and Russia.

The scientific team of the laboratory "Mechanics of gradient nanomaterials named after A.P. Zhilyaev” won the Russian Science Foundation grant competition for the event “Research by world-class scientific laboratories as part of the implementation of the priorities of the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation” of the Presidential Program of Research Projects implemented by leading scientists with the project  “Fundamentally new effects of asymmetric plastic deformation of metals and alloys and their application to the creation of innovative production technologies”.

On December 22, during a visit to Roscosmos and the Advanced Research Foundation, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University  Oleg Tulupov  and the head of the information and analytical department of the strategic planning department of the Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University  Andrey Shemetov  , together with the Executive Director of Scientific Production Association Android Technics  Yevgeny Dudorov  and the head of the electric motor development department of Scientific Production Association Android Technics  Dmitry Kuvshinov  , presented and successfully defended a project of the Advanced Research Foundation related to the development of a hybrid power plant based on a new type of electric motors for small aircraft and new materials for its manufacture.
